Volunteers needed for "Picnic in the Park" on July 13The big event at the new Gateway Park (NE Halsey at 106th) is just two weeks away -- Wednesday, July 13. During the planning of this event, many individuals have expressed a willingness to help the day of the event. Now is the time to confirm that commitment, and sign up for specific tasks. We'll need several individuals to help set up, starting at 3:00 pm that day. A couple of people are needed before 3:00 pm to help mark where various activities are to be set up. We'll need someone to open the gate as authorized vehicles arrive with their equipment. Others will be needed to unload and set-up the numerous pop-up canopies, tables and chairs. We could use some help making and putting up signage at the site. And there are sure to be other tasks as well. During the event, we need volunteers to staff the neighborhood table, give directions, help with various activities, distribute the free popcorn, help with take-down of some activities prior to the start of the movie -- and more.
